Why
America's Test Kitchen rates the Typhur Dome 2 Recommended, a tier below its favorites. It "cooked french fries and chicken cutlets well, if a touch on the dark side," but the flat basket's low sides made tossing food hard, and "we couldn't cook any food taller than 2 inches, such as a whole chicken or a cheesecake." ATK's winner, the Instant Vortex Plus 6-Quart, scored higher for cooking and capacity and costs much less. The Dome's self-cleaning and app features don't make up the gap.
