Why
Both testers loved it. TechRadar gave the Nama J2 4.5 out of 5: you layer whole fruit and vegetables in its tall hopper, turn the dial, and "The juices it makes are as fresh and tasty as you buy in stores." Homes & Gardens also gave it 4.5, and its tester said of the orange juice, "it was the best juice I've had in years." The complaints are size and cleanup: it's "Very tall, so won't work if you have low cabinets" and "Fiddly to clean." Each outlet also reviewed a much cheaper juicer. Homes & Gardens' budget pick, the NutriBullet Slow Juicer, is also a cold-press juicer, but you chop and feed produce yourself; TechRadar's Breville Juice Fountain Cold is fast but weak on leafy greens. Splurge if you want to load whole produce and walk away; save if you don't mind chopping and feeding the chute yourself.

Homes & Gardens' Best Budget Cold Press Juicer: "If you're looking for the best cold-press juicer on a budget, the NutriBullet Slow Juicer is the clear winner." Its tester found it "Squeezes every bit of juice from fruit" and is "Relatively quiet." It isn't hands-free like the Nama: H&G recommends chopping produce into smaller chunks to avoid jams. The catches are that "Pulp gets through filter," the auger is hard to remove, and the warranty is 1 year against the Nama's 15.

TechRadar rated it 4 out of 5 and calls it "a great option for big families": the wide chute takes whole apples, and "It took just 13 seconds to juice a whole apple." It's a centrifugal juicer, not a cold press like the Nama, and greens are its weak spot: "Results from juicing kale were disappointing," with a 14% yield. America's Test Kitchen, which didn't test the Nama, also named it its Best Centrifugal Juicer. Warranty is 1 year.

If you juice often and want to skip the chopping, yes: TechRadar and Homes & Gardens both gave it 4.5 stars, and H&G called its orange juice "the best juice I've had in years." If you don't mind cutting produce and feeding a chute, H&G's budget pick, the NutriBullet Slow Juicer, is a cold-press juicer for a fraction of the price. It's also tall (17.7 in), so check the clearance under your cabinets.
