America's Test Kitchen's favorite santoku earned full marks for performance and ease of use; testers called it "agile, sharp, and really good in hand," with "great precision and control." ATK's Best Buy, the MAC Superior, matched it for performance at well under half the price: "this knife produced razor-thin slices." Its wooden handle felt a little bulky to testers with smaller hands, and its 6.5-inch blade is shorter than ATK prefers. ATK's test dates from 2017. Splurge if you want the best-handling santoku ATK tested; save if you mainly care about sharpness.
