What the testers found
TechGearLab's Best Value: "An extremely capable chef knife that performs nearly as well as much more expensive knives." Its textured handle suits wet or greasy hands, and it's rated dishwasher-safe, which the Mac isn't. It arrived less sharp than the Mac (213 vs 187 on TechGearLab's sharpness test, where lower is sharper), and its cons are "Looks aren't attractive, low weight can feel cheap." America's Test Kitchen, which didn't test the Mac, rates the Swiss Classic Highly Recommended.
