America's Test Kitchen's winner: "Pancakes came out nice and golden brown, while burgers also cooked evenly," its display walks you through preheating, and "The nonstick-coated griddle plate is removable, making cleanup a breeze." Minor gripes: "The unit lacks nonslip feet," and "We also wished the model had a larger grease tray." ATK's Best Buy, the Presto Cool-Touch, has slightly more cooking space and costs a fraction as much, but it scored lower for cooking and ease of use and its plate doesn't come off.

"Like most electric griddles, this model does not feature a removable plate," but "the griddle is dishwasher-safe and can be fully submerged once the heat control unit is removed," and ATK gave it top marks for cleanup. "We detected some hot spots, particularly near the power connection, but that didn't affect our cooking results." Tops out at 400°F vs the Ninja's 500°F. Neither listing states a warranty.
