Why
Two testers found the Ode Gen 2 grinds with precision: Reviewed said it "excelled at grinding beans with precise consistency," and in Homes & Gardens' side-by-side test "every grind was consistent, and the coffee was delicious." But it can't grind for espresso, and Reviewed "didn't love the design of the catch, which made pouring grounds difficult." Both testers ranked the OXO Brew Conical above it; H&G said the Ode "would be top, but it can't do espresso, and it's expensive." The OXO gives even drip and French press grounds for a fraction of the price. Buy the Ode if you brew pour-over and want the most precise, consistent grounds.

Reviewed's Best Overall grinder: "The OXO Brew Conical Brew Grinder is the best overall grinder we've ever tested." Its container "resists static cling," and testers found "virtually no ground coffee accumulated in the chute." The testers disagree on fine grinds: Reviewed says it goes down to espresso, while Homes & Gardens found it "not ideal for fine grinds" and "wouldn't use this for Turkish coffee or espresso." At about 13 inches tall it "takes up more space than many other grinders." The listing doesn't state a warranty.

Fellow's cheaper grinder "impressed us during testing, producing everything from soft, fine espresso to extra-coarse cold brew," which the Ode can't. But Reviewed found "this machine made a substantial mess during testing": with no knock knob, leftover grounds spilled out, "resulting in inaccurate dosages and wasted coffee."

No. Fellow says it's designed for brewed coffee and not for espresso, and both Reviewed and Homes & Gardens list it as a con. The Fellow Opus grinds for espresso; the testers disagree on whether the OXO Brew Conical grinds fine enough.
