Tom's Guide rated the Rivelia 3.5 out of 5: "Very easy to use," with a bright touchscreen, two swappable bean hoppers and a bean-analyzing setup guide, but "Drinks taste merely fine," and despite its iced-drink buttons it "can't make iced coffee." The same reviewer later tested the Magnifica Duo and found no difference in taste: "there's really no distinction between this machine, the Rivelia, the PrimaDonna Aromatic." The Duo includes hot and cold milk frothers and costs less. The Rivelia is prettier and smaller, which is why the reviewer would still choose it "If you can part with a little extra."

Tom's Guide rated it 3.5 out of 5, the same as the Rivelia, by the same reviewer. Milk is its strength: "Both milk systems create gorgeous milk texture," hot and cold. Espresso was "a little pale," "Espresso flavor can be weak even on highest flavor intensity," and of the cold brew setting: "I wouldn't recommend using the cold brew setting at all." There's "No low water or low beans warning," and it's deeper than the Rivelia. Tom's Guide notes De'Longhi's standard warranty is two years; no long-term durability testing.

Tom's Guide's reviewer tested both, rated both 3.5 out of 5, and found no difference in coffee taste. The Magnifica Duo includes hot and cold milk frothers and costs less; the Rivelia is smaller, better looking and has two bean hoppers, and the reviewer prefers it if you can spend a little more.
Can the De'Longhi Rivelia make iced coffee?
Not really. In Tom's Guide's test, the iced Americano button told the reviewer to add ice, then brewed hot espresso and hot water. Cold foam needs De'Longhi's LatteCrema Cool accessory, sold separately.
