America's Test Kitchen's Upgrade Pick soda maker is "handsome, durable, and easy to use," with an impressive range from gently fizzy to aggressively bubbly, and "Breville’s proprietary carbonation cap allows you to carbonate juice, wine, or almost any other clear liquid." ATK's Best for Most People, the SodaStream Terra, earned the same full marks for ease of use, performance and design for a fraction of the price, but it carbonates water only. Splurge if you want to carbonate juice, wine or cocktails; save if you only fizz water.
